Who is the team behind The Shepherd's Pantry?
The Shepherd's Pantry was set up in late 2024 by Leonie Byrne. Its a tightly-run, single-family operation.

Do you have any qualifications?
In preparation for starting a food business, I obtained both my Food Safety Level 3 Certificate (HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)) and also Certificate in Managing Food Allergens. I also began my relationship with my local Environmental Health Office before starting to produce to ensure I would be compliant across the board. Food safety and the safety or my customers are of utmost importance to The Shepherd's Pantry.

Where are your products made?
All of our products are made in a separate kitchen to our everyday home kitchen. It has been inspected by the local Environmental Health Officer and is compliant with local food production regulations. We fondly refer to it as 'The Pantry'.

Do you have a sustainability policy?
At The Shepherd's Pantry, sustainability is at the forefront of our business. We know that our actions impact the community around us, and we try to lead by example in all endevours.

What should I do with the packaging when the product is all gone?
Both the jars and lids are fully recyclable. Simply wash them before disposing of them correctly. Postal boxes are also fully recyclable.

How do I know if a product is right for me?
This site gives detailed information about each product, including a detailed description, size, ingredients and allergens. If you feel that you need more information or have specific questions, feel free to reach out to us.

Are your products handmade?
Yes! All of our products are handmade in small batches, using high-quality ingredients. We pride ourselves on offering unique items crafted with great flavour and attention to detail.

Can I request a product that’s not listed on your website?
If you're looking for something specific that isn’t currently available, feel free to reach out to us! We may be able to source it or add it to our collection in the future.

Do you use preservatives in your products?
The only preservatives that we use in our products are sugar, citric acid and vinegar.
Some of our ingredients contain preservatives of their own: for example, some vinegars contain sulphites (preservatives) and information pertaining to each product is on its label.
We endeavour to use whole, clean ingredients as much as possible.

Where do you get your ingredients?
Where possible, The Shepherd's Pantry gets its ingredients from local suppliers. Other items, like for example the spices, we purchase from Irish suppliers online. It is our policy to use Irish suppliers unless there is none available.

Are any of your products suitable for vegetarians or vegans?
Most items are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Please consult the labels of individual products for further information. Allergens and animal products are listed in Bold.

What is the shelf life of your products?
Our preserves have a shelf-life of about twelve months from the date of production.
Spice mixes also have a 'best-before' date of twelve months, though they will last longer.
Dressings require refrigeration and have a shorter shelf-life of a couple of weeks.

How do I place an order?
To place an order, simply browse our products, add items to your cart, and proceed to checkout.
Follow the prompts to enter your shipping details, select a payment method, and complete your purchase.

Can I modify or cancel my order after placing it?
Once your order has been submitted, we begin processing it as soon as possible to ensure fast delivery. If you need to make changes or cancel, please contact us immediately at theshepherdspantryww@gmail.com and we'll do our best to assist you.

How will I know if my order has been successfully placed?
After completing your order, you’ll receive an email confirmation with the details of your order. If you don’t see it, please check your spam or junk folder.

How do I know if an item is in stock?
We do our best to keep inventory up to date. If an item is out of stock, it will be clearly marked on the product page. If you’re uncertain, feel free to reach out to us for confirmation.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept a variety of payment methods, including credit/debit cards and other secure payment options. You’ll see the available methods during checkout.

Can I apply a discount code to my order?
Yes! If you have a discount code, simply enter it at checkout to apply the discount to your order. Please note that discount codes cannot be combined with other offers unless otherwise stated.

What should I do if I receive the wrong item?
We apologize for any errors in your order. If you receive the wrong item, please contact us right away at theshepherdspantryww@gmail.com and we’ll arrange for a replacement or return.

How many items can I order?
You can order as many items as you like. Postage and packaging charges will be calculated based on weight. For especially large orders, please contact us directly on theshepherdspantryww@gmail.com.

Can I send The Shepherd's Pantry products as a gift?
Each order is carefully and beautifully packaged, ready to gift. If you have any special requests, please let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

I am sending my order to someone as a gift. Can I include a note for them?
If you'd like to personalise your order, that's no problem. Add a short note when you order and we’ll include it in the parcel.
Ordering
Shipping & Delivery

What shipping options are available?
Our parcels are sent by An Post, and charges are dependant on weight (less than 2kg or between 2kg and 5kg).

Because our products are breakable and require careful handling, we send our orders by registered post, with insurance, tracking and secure delivery. Signature will be required on delivery to ensure your package has make it into your hands safely.

Parcels should be received the day after they have been posted.

How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs vary depending on the weight of your items.
You will be able to view the shipping fees before finalizing your purchase at checkout.

How long does it take for my order to arrive?
Delivery times will depend on the the items you have chosen. If all items are in stock, we will endeavour to have your order processed and dispatched within 5 days of order. You will receive tracking information once your order has shipped.

Do you ship internationally?
We currently are only shipping within Ireland, but we do hope to ship internationally in the future. Watch this space!

Can I track my order?
Yes, once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive a tracking number via email so you can monitor the progress of your delivery.

What should I do if my order doesn't arrive?
If your order hasn’t arrived within the estimated delivery window, please contact us at theshepherdspantryww@gmail.com, and we’ll investigate the issue and assist you in resolving it.

Do you offer local pick-up options?
We’re excited to offer you the option to pick up your order directly from us when we're at a Market!

To ensure that we have your items ready and in stock, please place your order at least 3 days in advance of the market date. For example, if you’d like to pick up your order on a Saturday, please make sure to order by Wednesday at the latest.

What if I miss my delivery?
If you're not home when the delivery arrives, the carrier may leave a notice for you to reschedule or pick up your package at a local post office or depot. Please check the tracking information for further instructions.

Can I change the shipping address after placing my order?
If you need to change the shipping address, please contact us as soon as possible. We can make changes to your order if it hasn’t been processed for shipping yet.

Yes, you will receive an email notification with shipping details and tracking information once your order has been dispatched.
